Faulty Car Battery - Do i need the receipt?

Hi,
Not sure where to put this so thought here be ok
I bought a new battery for my car in March this year and today i could not start the car or if would not hold it's power when i tried jumping it so phoned out RAC. They got it running but did a test on it and it's a faulty battery.
But i cannot find the receipt anywhere and i bought it at a big local store (has many shops, not halfords) and it came with a 2yr warranty i just checked my statements and its on there but just the price i paid and the date and the name of the company.
Is this proof, or can they demand the till receipt?
* Yes i would phone the store but they close at 5.30pm
Thanks

credit card statement should be enough also some manufacturers put the date on the battery for warranty purposes ... good luck0

Q7. Do I have to produce a receipt to claim my rights?
No. In fact the trader doesn't have to give you a receipt in the first place so it would be unfair to say that you had to produce one. However, it might not be unreasonable for the shop to want some proof of purchase, so look to see if you have a cheque stub, bank statement, credit card slip etc., and this should be sufficient.0
