TV as PC monitor..............

Hi,
I have a LCD tv and would like to get rid of my big PC monitor and use the lcd tv instead.

what adapters and cables will i need to be able to do this?

  • some LCD TV's have a standard monitor input connector on them, have you had a look to see if yours does?, that would be the easiest way

    I think alot would depend on the type of Graphics card you have in your computer, as that is where you would be connectiong your Tv to your PC. What connections does your Graphics card have, or what make/type of card is it?

  • What outputs does your graphics card have? The easiest way is to get a converter from S-Video to SCART, but you may find the quality is not what you'd get from a dedicated monitor.

    Some televisions have an S-Video input, so you could get an S-Video cable to plug into your television. You will need to make sure you have an S-Video output on your graphics card, however.
