Thank you Cit_K! I hope I get the result I'm after. I am confident about the appeal though.0

It's all bull in my opinion and they can't see how this kind of treatment effects those going through it. Surely there was no need for another medical so soon after winning my appeal.
So what would have been helpful - telling you lies? Get over yourself, and get some manners!Gone ... or have I?0 -
I am in the process of claiming employment and support allowance due to a severe back pain. I received a form asking about my bank details and savings. I dont have any savings but I had 12 grand in june in my savings account from my deceased husband but paid loads of debts back so the money was out of my account by july. Will this affect my claim? Do I have to prove to them where the money went?I am in severe pain but I don't know what to do..I dont know if I should claim. Please give me some advice. Thank you0

Hi and welcome
You might be better posting this in the 'Benefits & Tax Credits' section of the forum - if one of the mods sees it maybe they could move it for you.
My understanding is that if you are claiming contribution based ESA then savings are not taken into account.
However if you're claiming income based ESA then they will ask to see bank statements etc, but I don't know if they'll ask for more than the last couple of months.
If you repaid the debts whilst you were still well, then I can't see any problem as they can't say that you did so to claim benefit (technically called deprivation of capital)
