in Credit cards
I am confused.
I am going to apply for a cashback card but which one would be best for me?
Spend approx £750 a month. Ideally I would like one in joint names.
Thanks

I spend a similar amount to you per month on credit cards, I use Amex Blue and Morgan Stanley Platinum. The former pays 1% cashback AFTER £2K spent on card and the latter pays 1% up to £2K. Morgan Stanley offers a 3 month 2% cashback rate too which is good (or at least it used to). It's handy to have them both as Amex isn't accepted in so many places.Quidco ~ £3,718 | Greasypalm ~ £354 | Freefivers ~ £45 | Pigsback ~ £260 shopping vouchers + 15 CDs
Total cashback / freebies / money-saving: 2006 ~ £3,961 | 2007 ~ 3,610 | 2008 ~ £4,159 | 2009 ~ £1,449

Egg Money MasterCard pays 1% cashback, up to £200 per year.
The Conran card (which is an MBNA VISA card) guarantees 0.8% cashback but in practice has been paying 1% dutring the past few years. There is no annual limit.
There is also the Halifax Moneyback VISA debit card, which pays 1% cashback, up to £100 per annum. But the associated current account only gives you 0.5% in-credit interest. Also, you don't get cashback if you don't credit the current account with a minimum of £1000 per month.
The Morgan Stanley Platinum might also be worth getting to make use of the introductory increased cashback rate of 2% on the first £2000 spent. (That's an extra £20 gained!). Then ditch the card or keep it and spend only £2000 on it every year.
I have both the Egg Money and Conran cards. I also applied for the Halifax Moneyback card as I have a Bank of Scotland (Halifax) account anyway. That means I can use the debit card where credit cards are not accepted: for instance, for heating oil or at the Post Office.
I am trying to pay everything I can by credit card now including council tax.Dagobert0 -

Dont ditch the card when you get to 2K, just dont use it, if you cancel before your 1st yr anniversary you lose the cashback0
