I need a Celebrity urgently!

A project that I've been involved in has an event planned for this Thursday lunchtime in Cardiff, Wales. Unfortunately the celebrity that was booked has let us down. All we wanted them to do was hand out some awards to a few people with Asperger syndrome as a thankyou for all their hard work and achievement. Now they will be very disappointed!

I know it is unlikely but worth a try. Are there any celebrities reading this or anyone who knows a celebrity who might be in the Cardiff area and available this Thursday between 1-2p.m? Or anyone who can suggest any alternatives I could try? If so please PM me.

I may be able to arrange some payment and would certainly cover expenses. It would make their day!

Now I get it. You were making fun of me!

But you see I find it very difficult to recognise sarcasm. It wouldn’t be any easier if I could see you or hear your tone of voice as I don’t easily recognise emotions or facial expressions.

I always take everything that people say on face value. And when these sorts of things happen it makes me realise how disabled I am. How stupid I must look!

I have to put up with this sort of thing everyday……. I don’t expect you to understand… you were just having a joke.

But you see.......being on the autism spectrum is no joke to me!

Try Cardiff Rugby club - many rugby teams have a community department. That said they have a game Friday night and it may be difficult to free anyone the day before due to training commitments - however they may also have someone who is unfit to play so won't be involved in training.

Unfortunately I don't have any personal contacts there that I can give you - my team are Cardiff's opposition on Friday hence why it sprang to mind! I know if you asked our lot they'd help if they could and most rugby clubs are similarly generously minded.

Jembie's suggestion is a good one - and perhaps if your local radio station has a morning phone-in show, you may be able to put your request out 'on air' in the morning? Another thought might be to contact the local TV stations - the regional programmes are good with community events, particuarly if they can get a news story out of it as well! Another option might be your local newspaper - do they have a well-known article writer or reporter that they could loan out for an hour or two?

As a suggestion, why not ask the local mayor or someone similar

I know my son who is also on the spectrum wouldn't appreciate a celebrity attending, I believe he'd be more curious as to why they are there.
