i phoned npower today to see what my tarrif was, capped in july until march 09,when i asked the lady for the prices, she put me on hold for ten minutes then told me the following:
electricity 13.35p for 1st 728 then 12.29p thereafter
gas 6..084p for 1st 4572 then 2.090 thereafter
all prices inclusive of vat
just wondered how that compares with other tarrifs
i'm on standard electricity and gas tarrif
electricity 13.35p for 1st 728 then 12.29p thereafter
gas 6..084p for 1st 4572 then 2.090 thereafter
all prices inclusive of vat

Your gas prices are good, unless you have very low consumption.
Electricity prices vary according to where you live, but they don't seem that competitive.0 -
Those electricity prices are beter than what I pay and i'm on sol13!
15.225p for first 728 units
13.703p for additional units
For my gas:-
6.752p for first 4572 kWh
2.612p for additional kWh
So i'd stick with your capped tarrif if I was you.

As said above, electricity prices vary across the country, but in my area BG Click 6 charge:
18.583p for the first 500 unit pa and then 9.014p (including VAT and paying by DD)
That will be considerable cheaper than your NPower prices of 13.35p for first 728 then 12.29p .
If you use the UK average of 3,300kWh pa you will pay £413 with NPower and £345 with Click 6. *
If you use more than the average, your savings will be much larger.
* depending where you live your savings could be bigger or smaller, and I have not included discounts as I don't know what NPower give. BG give a max of £400 -
i get £100 a year discount as i pay by monthly d/d0

That is for dual fuel then.
You will of course get a bigger discount for dual fuel with other companies.
Switching away from NPower for electricity and remaining with them for gas will probably be your best option, IF Npower will allow you to have just gas at those prices.0
