Gone to management check team...what does this mean?

Greetings everyone,
I applied for extra benefit for my partner (as an adult dependant) as I'm on incapacity benefit (we had a baby in the middle of the year and I understand we are entitled to an extra £50 a week for my partner from the time she moved in with me full time)
When I rang they said that it had been sorted out (after a good few mths) but now it had been picked to go to the management check team. It was hard to get the guy to elaborate further on this he just said "how do you get incapacity paid"
It just comes across to me that a "management check" with that team is a check to determine if you are committing fraud or something.
am I right?
thanks
Paul Jay

No, it wil be a random check of the claim to make sure it's correct- no different from car makers who make sure there's a wheel on each corner before it leaves the factory!0

Stazi is right, it just gets double checked. When I worked for the Jobcentre they used to do it all the time. It will also be back dated.0
