Direct payments is a brilliant scheme.
You can often get direct payments to replace eg any council homecare you get, its much more flexible than homecare and as it is a lot cheaper, you may get more help than otherwise.
In my area a charity called independant living takes care of all the paperwork.
worth asking about, if you have a social worker they should be able to discuss it with you.0
