No internet access

Hiya

I'm a bit green with computer matters so please bear with me.

I'm trying to get my in laws back online as they run a business and need the computer.

The problem started on Sunday, don't know if the time change had anything to do with it cos the computer is only 3 months old (told you I was green) We can't get any internet access at all and when we rang Virgin, they kept telling us to run a yellow or blue cable from the router to the computer. They've never had a cable running from the wireless router to the computer so I don't get it. There's always been just the power cable and the phone connection.

HELP !!!!!!!!

    Ok thanks, I'll do that.

Everything else seemed okay, the router was lit up etc. I'll try the restore and post back later.

    Cheers
  • If you can plug the ethernet cable into their computer from the modem, this will make the connection a lot more stable. There is no need to run it wirelessly if they are sitting next to each other. Might be an option rather than resetting back to a restore point.
