you can acces the same emails from the same account on by the laptop + the PC, you will need to access your email account via the web and look under the settings to get it to "leave a copy on the server" so that both machines can download the emails
at some poitn you may need to log into the webmail and delte some emails maually if your mailbox fills upEx forum ambassador

My feeling is that the best solution is the one you've nearly found - i.e. switch over completely to a web based account (i highly recommend gmail).
That way you don't get problems when changing internet provider or upgrading to a new PC - of course this solution works much better with broadband as you can be always connected. With web based email it's not so easy to read on a plane

I use Thunderbird and that has an option to save a copy on the server. I suppose I could have my laptop set to that option so that the emails are accessible by my laptop and then later by the desktop, and my desktop set to delete from the server once I've finally read them. That way the server mailbox will be kept relatively free. Of course I could do it vice versa also.0

Do you realise that advertising your own site is not allowed on this site? I've just seen your posts, and it seems that you mention your own site in just about every one. This could also be classed as spamming the forums, and is also against the rules. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

If you use MS Outlook, then you need to go to (Off the top of my head) 'Tools' menu, then 'Accounts' then under one of the tabs, you may even have to go into advanced settings you should find a check box which says "Leave a copy of message on server", make sure this is ticked, and you will then be able to download the mail to both your computers

This is what Browntoa was saying earlier
