Printer 'error'

Out of the blue my printer (Canon 560i) won't work. The amber 'error' light flashes and it won't clear. There is nothing 'pending' and maintenance won't work either

I've tried everything I can think of, including installing and reinstalling.

Any suggestions?

Firstly depends on the type of flashing. (number of flashes and if it remains the same colour).

You should be able to find the answer in one of them posts. Unless you can report back here the specifics of the flashing.

One long green followed by 5 short amber - repeated as on a loop.

I was sooooo hopeful when I clicked on the link - it looked as if the answer was there - but no, after trying everything I still have the same problem which I now know is the print head.

Drivers have been reinstalled 3 times, they head has been removed and cleaned twice and none of the resetting works - so unless anyone has an other idea I'm going to have to buy another printer.
