Changing electric & gas card meters to quarterly bills
Options
Hi guys, I hope you can help. We are in the process of buying a house and should move in a few weeks but it has both electric and gas pay as you use card meters. We would prefer not to use these as I hear they are more expensive but is it easy for them to be changed? And would we get charged for wanting to switch them over to quarterly bills? Sorry if this has been asked previously - I'm a newbie, go easy on me!!

We were in this situation ten years ago and were not charged. However, we had been paying by DD in a previous property. Do you have a credit account at present? Easiest way to get an answer would be to ring and ask the current supplier for your new house, or failing that, your present supplier.0

Thanks, I will give them a call direct. We are currently paying by DD and have been for many years in many different properties so I guess it shouldnt be that difficult. Thanks Magentasue.0

Many years ago I moved into a property with meters for both the gas and the electric.
I had to show my previous bills to prove I had accounts before and they had been paid accordingly.
As you have existing accounts at your previous property there should be no problems. Explain you want the meters changed so you can make payments by direct debit your preferred and present method of payment.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........
