Hi
thought i would ask on here about honeymoon ideas?
for some people searching for holidays are fun if you know where to look on a budget. i love looking but they are expensive!
I am getting married July 24th, and want to go 26th for a week - 10 days.
i am struggling to find becuase of the time of year
-too hot in july august, but want a nice white beach blue waters??
-too busy, peak time of year
-bahamas, carribean - wrong time of year
-no where to expensive
i also have the problem where my partner doesn not want to sit on a beach all day and prefer outings/things to do?
any help or past experiences of honeymoons in july - please let me know
thanks
and sorry i am very fussy
but if anyone reading this has had or planning that type of holiday, the advice is muchly appreciated!!!
oo and would it be better just booking it a week before? to get a real bargain

Try looking at Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, The Scilly Isles (all have nice beaches and plenty do do).
Fuerteventura has nice white beaches but I have never been there so cannot confirm either way but during July/August it will be hot.
Perhaps it would help if you let us know what your budget is?0 -
roughly £1000
im really not looking for 5* accomodation. just a lovely timeThank youLiz x0 -
A trip to New York - plenty of places to stay, plenty to see and do.
Amsterdam - reasonable, again lots to see and do.
Found this with Thomas Cook:
Intercontinental Aphrodite Hills Resort outside Paphos in Cyprus - has a spa, golf course and other things. It also seems to be fairly reasonably priced from the prices that I have seen.
Italy can also be nice in July, again it can be hot but there is usually plenty to see and do: Venice, Lido di Jesolo (not bad, has a beach - the public bit is close to the sea and the rest is owned by the various hotels) - you can go on excursions from here to Venice, Austria, San Marino (a principality with yellow phone boxes). Como - this place is great, you can easily travel around the lake, you can hire speed boats to cruise up and down it, get the bus to Lake Lugano in Switzerland. It is just a lovely place with lots of interesting places to visit.
I guess it depends on exactly what you want.0 -
Holland is lovely and they have fantastic beaches on the west coast. We stayed in a town called Nordvick un Zee 5 years ago. Holland is such a lovely country, beautiful countryside, so clean and people friendly and the locals are really helpful and don't mind if you don't speak the language."I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0

Have you ever been to Alcudia in Majorca. I don't mean in the centre(too touristy). There is a fanastic hotel exclusive to Thomson Called the Plaja d'or. Its all inclusive now.(used to be half board) It is a medium sized hotel about 1 km from town centre). you walk out the front of the hotel & go through a row of trees & you are on the whitest sand & the bluest sea ( I think equally comparable to the carribiean)
I have been to many lovely places but that is the only one that took my breath away.
Friends of mine went there last year & i am still jealous.
I know everyone has somewhere special- i guess thats mine.
I hope you find your special place & have a wonderful wedding0 -

I get married at beginning of July and we have taken the risk with the Caribbean.
We went last July (exactly same time as we will be going next July) and the weather was perfect for all but 1 day of the holiday (penultimate day).0 -
