How long does a balance transfer take?

I have an unusually large balance on my Barclaycard this month and would like to play the transfer-to-0%-card game. However, I have not yet applied for a 0% card, let alone for a balance transfer, and I need to pay Barclaycard by 23 Dec (nine days' time). Do I have time, or is the turnaround for balance transfers longer than this?

I don't think you've got a chance, to be fair.
You need to apply, sign and return the application form, have the account opened, then action the balance transfer within 7 working days.0 -
HSBC in-branch applications & BT's are currently being turned around in around 4-5 working days. Take driving licence & recent utility bill, current account details (recent statement is ideal), and card details for the BT.Caped_Avenger wrote:I don't think you've got a chance, to be fair.
