I too am not sure why the OP is getitng a pasting for asking a question that is pertinent to any of us interested in the housing market. Indeed, Im very pleased it has been asked as its something Ive wondered for a while
A couple of months ago I asked the question "what do lenders make of these deals" "what do surveyors think when they go around"
I have always wondered which lenders would lend like this, and as this thread SEEMS to be showing is that lenders for these tinpot schemes ( and believe me I loath them as much as others seem to) that no one will lend.
AFIAC this is excellent news. If lenders wont lend on these crazy schemes then fabulous, those less moneysaving than many of us on here wont get suckered in. What concerns me is that some developers MUST be selling using this method ( am i just an optimist?) as I cant see they would spend all this time/money/ advertising on this scheme. The london freesheets are filled with these so called "deals". What bothers me is that those who HAVE gone ahead with this scheme, have used the developers brokers & solicitors to "get it through". If there is no way of remortgaging later, are these buyers stuffed for life??
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
