Just a word of caution after using uSwitch last night to change my provider a) putting the price up by 20% despite wholesale gas falling and b) them writing to me to say they owe me £100 but need to increase my direct debit by £15 per month...
Anyway went on uswitch, needed to stock up my wine bottle holder was empty.
Found a suitable price from E-On saving me roughly £100.
However went through the process of switching got to the final step to be told because my gas wasn't supplied by Transco then I'd have to pay £41 per year extra to compensate the increased independant charges E-On has to pay.
Hmmm I still switched their deal was still going to save me money but did take the shine off a little.

I think only BG and SSE out of the major 6 don't charge extra for an IGT.
Of course ebico don't charge extra either.
But as you correctly did, you need to look at the total price. You were right to switch as it still saved you £60 per year

Hopefully you used your annual consumption figures and not your monthly payment to calculate your potential savings. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
