Also - as has been mentioned before - balance transfers also qualify for the 'Travelcare' reward points just like purchases. So repeated balance transfers within the 7 months build up large reward balances.......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0

Beware of applying for the Co-op card. We are longstanding customers of the Co-op and, after having been encouraged to do so during a chat with their CS on the phone, applied for that card. We were told that we would be sent a form to fill in (as a formality)within 2 days.
We waited a week and, having received nothing, rang them only to be told we'd been turned down and that it was because of our credit report. We were totally shocked as we knew that our finances are and always have been in excellent order. We duly applied for, and received, our credit report which is immaculate.
The lesson here is that we were treated extremely shoddily by the Co-op, who appear to treat trustworthy customers who've been with them for years and have an excellent record, in a completely arbitrary and uncaring manner., so I dread to think how they would behave towards new applicants. >:(
However, the footnote to all this is that their loss is our gain as we've been accepted for a different card with 0% for 12 months on purchases, which is a much better deal than the 6 months that the Co-op were offering. ;D'Puritanism: the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy'.

And that card that gives you this 0% over 12 months is called ?????
Please!!
Thanks ;D0 -
hoyin - it's Sainsbury's credit card if you want 12 months on PURCHASES. For 12 months on BALANCE TRANSFERS look at the LLoydsTSB Advance card (never use this card for purchases though as there is some tricky small print).
weatherwax - pleased to see you went for it in the end.0 -

It is indeed Sainsbury's! Many thanks to you Reaper for your clear and helpful advice, especially on my initial and tentative steps into the world of the BT. ;D'Puritanism: the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy'.

If you use the Sainsbury's to pay for all your purchases each month and keep up the minimum payments, then pay the balance (ie equivalent amount off your statement of purchases that month, minus minimum payment) into your high interest account, then you are effectively getting 0% transfer (in smaller chunks). Of course, this relies on you paying money into the savings account as you will still need to settle your account by the end of the 0% period.
