Argos Charging Twice For Each Transaction

  • Thanks for making us aware of this, I shopped at Long Eaton, Nottingham branch on Friday and have just checked my credit card statement and have indeed been charged twice.
Lets hope they are doing refunds automatically for all duplicate transactions as I'm sure some people may not notice the error especially at this time of year when a lot more shopping is being done..

I noticed this on my amex online transactions too for a purchase in Middlesbrough on Friday.

(sarcasm mode) nice to see an apology about it on the website (don't bother, it ain't there...)

I'd love to know how much interest this major "mistake" has made Argos - of course we'll all be getting that added back, plus a voucher for our troubles, and fees paid for anyone going overdrawn.

I made a point to customer services that there was no apology on website etc and the supervisor said she would pass that on.

Both my bank and Argos said if I had encountered bank charges they would refund them - but I didn't so I've not followed that through.

im glad i belong to this site, i was peed off to find this had happened as well, and rang my 24 hr banking to find out what had happened.... natwest seem to think ill get it back in the morning at 8am. i used my stroud branch, in gloucestershire, and im not at all amused..... as for system glitch, its certainly very odd, id have thought my money would be taken the same day, not on 2 different days, that are spaced 4 days apart!

Same thing happened with my wife's account. Do you think I should get in touch with bank or Argos or should just wait till Friday?

    Confused .....
