DC04 hose assembly required in silver/purple

I've been Money Tipped!
in In my home (includes DIY) MoneySaving
Just noticed that my hose assembly has a bit split on it. It is at the top so I suppose it would be ok when it's used as a regular vacum cleaner but when doing crevices/corners etc the dust would just blow out.

The cheapest I've come across this item is £20.99 which includes delivery charges. Can anyone see it cheaper.

    hi i had the same problem i phoned thier helpline and they sent me one free of charge my vac war three years old and out of warranty

    Mine is four years old, out of warranty etc. The helpline closes at 8pm, so here goes...

    Just called but unfortunately, closed. Called on this number instead of the 0870 one so perhaps if I did call the 0870 one... I'll give them a call tomorrow. Can still use the vacum, just not to hoover up under things/corners etc.

    Alternative number for Dyson instead of the 0870 number they have printed on the side of the cleaner. 01666 827200

    My OH just chopped a bit out and refitted the hose when ours split. If you have no joy I will ask him how to do it and post back.

    Called the helpline/customer service and they quoted me £23.00 for the hose, dearer than online. The woman said that they would not be able guarantee products that I buy online as they don't supply to anyone else etc etc. Fair enough, I'll take my chances. I've checked the above link and emailed for info on the hose attachment, (priced at £18.99 inc delivery) I require. I'll just wait and see what they come up. Cheers for the info.

    Email arrived, £23 for the purple/silver one and £18.99 for the yellow/silver one. Hmmm, do I go for the cheaper one and stuff the co-ordination of the cleaner and save £4.01 or...:think:

    What the heck, I'll be colour unco-ordinated for £18.99. You don't see the hose anyway as the cabling covers it when in store.
