February trip - 2 people - Amsterdam - 5 nights

Really need some help with this one. Flights are kind of a set price so thats not the issue.

I'd like to suprise my gf with a nice hotel this time instead of the dive we stayed in last holiday. Im looking to go from Feb 19th for 5 nights. Anyone got any good reccomendations for good hotels there? Preferably under £450 for the 5 nights. Maybe someone knows of a good hotel that isn't in all the hotel search engines. You know, one of them localers kind of hotels. Or perhaps someone knows of a 3*/4*/5* with a good deal on?

would you concider renting a houseboat - they can be lovely and give you much more space and often are in ideal locations

I had considered staying on a houseboat but wasn't sure if it would be freezing in the winter LOL


Some of those aparmtents/boats do look very tempting though
