Not sure where to put this thread so..
I signed upto Sky on the Internet in July and recently tried to cancel my connection as I could no longer afford it. But to my unknown knowledge they told me that my connection was for a minimum of 12 monthswhich I didnt even realise it was for. So I couldnt cancel it and as I have Sky+ I can really downgrade the package as I would still have to pay £10 extra p/m for the box if I didnt subscribe to Sky's full package of £42 p/m,
I was wondering if there is ANY way of cancelling it or getting a reduced price of some sort.. Any help/advice is greatful. Thanks in advance
Sorry if its in the wrong catergory. Carl

I'm afraid when you signed up to it it was a 12 month contract. You can ring them up and say you want to be on the cheapest package possible though.
There is a freefone number for sky somewhere on here but I cant find it.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
you don't need to be on the £42 package to avoid the sky+ £10 charge, i think the cheapest is £34. the cheapest you can get is £25 ( 2 mixes + £10 sky+ charge). see sky.com for the various mix details.
0800 7316965 - option 2 should get you through to sky for free0 -
Just cancelled Kids, Style & culture and the sports which saves me £7.50 p/m with sky+ Which is ok as I never really watch any of these.0

Well I've just downgraded my Sky saving me £18 per month via the freefone number which I have now:

did you say you signed up on the internet?
if so did you ever sign a credit agreement?
if you didnt let the sky run and dont pay the bill after 2-3 months of veiwing they disconnect most of channels when you get the bill write to them asking for your credit agreement if you didnt sign one they cant provide it and legally cannot pursue you for the debt
we moved to a block of massionettes were we cant have a sky dish on the house so i left it at home with my inlaws last month they cut it off ive just written to them and have the account closed... :j OFFICIAL DFW NERD NO 159 PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH OUR DEBTS:beer: :j
