They dont claim they price match, and never have done so.In fact in a recent training event i attended the Trainer said dont phone up HO and ask if we can better the price on the tariff leaflets, because we cant.
Neither do they normally pay comparism sites to promote their services. Possibly the comparism sites UK Power & Energylynx are distributors in their own rights,or they are recieving commission from an individual Distributor.

Umm, I'm a customer of UW. Not a rep, not getting commission, just a bog-standard customer. For me they've worked out a lot cheaper. I have my phone, net, gas and leccy from them, plus I pay my membership (£1.70 a month, which I don't consider a hidden charge). They've been very good, their customer service is a London number (not an 0845/0870), and I do recommend them to other people. I know people who have had problems with UW, but my parents took the same services as me and their monthly bill now is the same as just their monthly gas bill from British Gas.
That's two lots of happy customers. Like I said, I've no agenda, but I'm happy with them.Sealed Pot Challenge number 298, up yours HSBC!0 -

In that case they are trying to rip off all their other members.
You could help all your fellow members save some money by letting them know by posting it here, as this is what they give as their number on their website:
Telephone 0844 815 7777 (calls to this number are generally charged at 5p per minute from a landline)0 -
I'm sure you are aware of Ofgen's actions against comparison sites at the moment? - We never come top because we don't pay them a commission. Play around with any comparison site, and it will always tell you to switch. I've tried it & so have many many other people I know - always to the same effect.
So why when I did a comparison for my mum did Ebico come top of the list? They dont work on commision and the comparison sites dont get any commision from them but they still showed up top of the list.
Maybe the real reason UW warehouse doesnt show up near the top of the list is THEY ARE NOT THE CHEAPEST!! and it doesnt matter how many times you do a comparison it will show the cheapest suppliers at the top of the list which is why you wont see UW there.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

I have given you chapter and verse on 2 recommended comparison sites which do pay out if you sign up to uw. I have quoted from one of them that the money is paid by the new supplier.
You and your colleagues insist the uw never pays commission to any comparison sites, and your colleague says he knows this is true because he has seen an "internal" document stating this.
We also have learnt that the training department says different things to different reps.
Maybe the whole "we never pay commission" issue is a clever objection overcoming ploy thought up by the sales trainers.
As in - "What should we say when customers say we are much more expensive on the comparison websites?"
Answer: Say "Oh that's because we never pay them commission like all the other ones do, so they never show us at the top"
Makes you think ...... because there is no doubt that you do pay commission to certain sites! (And if they are lying, what would be their motive, and why haven't your people taken action over it?)0 -
Can't be bothered to scroll back and read all the hysterical posts. What are these sites that UW are on that pay commission please Quentin?
Please name them.so we can all be sure. What is your job that makes you such an expert - we'd all love to know, same with Cardew. Or is it the case of the 'loudest hinge gets oiled first'? Come on, let us know where you get your 'professional' advice and input.
Bet you don't!
Are you a CEO of some 'Big 6' energy company who feels threatened by UW who gives good prices, good customer service, good market results and credibility, can get all their bills on ONE piece of paper and in one envelope, fuly itemised at no extra cost to the customer, with award winning customer service. Because you can't do it?
Sorry lovey but you are full of it. With your reuctance to revreal why you're so anti UW, plus your vehemence towards UW, you just come across as a Prutanical kn0bhead.'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'
