What I have said is far from made-up. It's exactly what I've been told.

I will be ringing UW in the morning to confirm the points you have raised, as obviously I do not want to work for a company, that you seem to think, is fraudulent.

    Thanks for your points.

It's exactly what I've been told.

In that case you have been badly lied to and let down.

To tell you (and then for you to tell us) they will price match if anyone finds a cheaper deal is downright fraudulent. You have obviously used it when recruiting new customers.

Were it true, don't you think it would emblazened across all their advertising?

And don't you think we would all have been advised by MSE Martin to go there?

To be honest, I have never said that to anyone as noone had cross-questioned me like you have! - This is what I was told at the last training event, so I apologise if it was not correct.

I certainly will if it appears that you are correct.

I said I will only sell a product that I belive in 100%.

    Hi SALOPMAN

I'm involved in the UW business, so let me try to answer your questions.

To answer "Are they any good" I'd refer you to this months Which? report, that puts Utility Warehouse right at the top as Best Utilities Provider. To be fair, this report covers energy only, but they get four and five stars across the board, and an overall approval rating of 72%. The nearest rival gets 60%!

This is the third or fourth time in six months that they've had a very favourable score from Which? who are, IMO, about the most independent third-party consumer body there is.

    Yet more misleading rubbish!

Which(a fine organisation) have not recommended or 'tested' UW.

They held a poll on Utility companies.

According to UW’s own site they have 208,444 customers including those who do not take gas and electricity from UW.

    They have 16,600 independent distributors.

I think you would agree that is an unusually high percentage of ‘employees’ for such a small customer base. Indeed it is approx the same of employees as as British Gas.

Given the UW sales technique of recruiting family and friends, statistically the chance of these 16,600(plus family and friends) participating in the Which poll is way way in excess of the employees of any other utility company.

Even the most naïve would concede that any UW ‘employee’(or family member) has a vested interest in ensuring that UW fare well in the poll. They can then use the 'results' as above.

To a certain extent that is confirmed by the proportionally high number of UW 'customers'(I use the term loosley) participating in the poll.

Bearing in mind that this poll was for Gas and Electricity it is rather surprising that UW came top in the ‘Best Value’ category, when it is very clear that UW cannot compete on price.

When indisputable evidence is provided on UW’s uncompetitive pricing, their reps always fall back on the great service aspect; the more enlightened reps admit that they do not compete on price.

The poll is no more representative than Cyprus voting for Greece in the Eurovision song contest.

Whatever the imagined or real virtues of UW they most certainly do not compete on price with the other companies.

There are loads of comparison websites, check it out!

If we can not beat a price within the terms of our conditions then I belive we do price match.

    quote]

UW do not pricematch. This is categorically laid down by head office. What you see is what you get - no exceptions. This distributor believes pricematching is involved, this is not so and he/she has mis understood.

As usual, C & Q, the hysterical twosome, jump onto a piece of information that has probably been mis understood by a distributor and are subsequently damning all UW distributors as being the spawn of the devil. Anything to discredit UW for whatever their particular greivances are against the company.

I know C has in the past, railed against UW distributors for attempting to engage 'friends and family' as customers. Does he not realise that people have free will and can make their own decisions? Or does he just ignore this fact? They either like what's on offer and take it up or they don't and decline, it's the same with anyone, total strangers, friends, colleagues etc. It doesn't matter if they're friends and family or not, the choice is ultimately theirs and they can leave and go to another supplier if they want to, or not take it up at all. Nobody is holding a gun to their heads.

Quite honestly, I wonder at the quality of C & Q's lives if this is all they have to take issue with, quite so vociferously. It's really quite pathetic.

btw - I'd be very interested to know what C & Q do/did for a living and who they work/worked for. I'm sure quite a few holes could be picked and scandals revealed!

Come on then, if you're big enough! Let's hear it!

If you read the thread, you will see that two of your colleagues have posted misleading and false claims about the uw.

First it was Lighteater who incorrectly posted that you have been guaranteeing for the last 5 years you are cheaper than the big 6.

His misleading claim was pointed out, but then hougtimo came to support him, again making more misleading claims about your price guarantee, this time falsley saying it included pricematching should any of the big 6 be cheaper.

This was again corrected, but it was he who insisted on continuing to post the misleading claims.

It seems the scales have fallen from his eyes, though, and he will be handing in his application forms and tariff booklets in the morning once he speaks to the training department to find out why they lied to him!
