Tuesday 28/10/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Today I will:
  • Clicks
  • check online banking
  • storecupboard lunch tea
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • go for swim and jacuzzi -to use gym membership
  • not use car
  • try and have a no spend day
  • be sparkly - wicked witch socks again today:D
Morning everyone, very cold here today we had frost last night for first time. Quiet day planned at work so should get lots of paperwork done and need to sort out a few phone calls i keep putting off:rolleyes:
Hope you all have a good day - catch up with you later.:D

Morning all, well i have had a fairly lazy start to the morning with a nice lie in!!

Miss piggy, shame about the bank charges, must be so annoying.

Ktjazz, how did it go last night on the helpline? Am sure you did a great job.

    Well my list for today:
-I have filled in and completed two invoices, so at least i will get paid some money now!!
-I have emailed a mystery shopping company to find out what is going on with previous jobs that belonged to me! All sorted now
-I have made some improvements to my website and put a link in it so google can track it, give me more details. Now the hard bit of creating it is over, i still have to keep working on it so that it stays high up in the search engines!!

-Read up on how to optimise my website on search engines, as currently have no real idea!!
-Do two mystery shops including free lunch out
    -Go to second job later
    -Make meals from storecupboard

-Keep heating off as long as possible
-Unload car of all massage stuff, otherwise it will be very expensive to trapse around with me
-Check on freecycle for free things
    -Check on ebay for trainers
-Check on ebay for more oils

    -Work on massage case studies
-Do three concepts for counselling course
-Create diagram for counselling course, on the computer
-Write up my mystery shopping reports

    -Check online banking
    -Sort through emails
    -Do any surveys received
    -Send off self employment form
-Send off posters to student union, for my business
-Look on site for further business advice
-Sort out which courses i want to do for my business and when i can do them
    -Update spreadsheets and challenges
-Create and print out invoice for cleaning job

Think thats it for me today, eveyone have a great day and catch up with you all later.

    Hello everyone!

Well, I surveved last night. I didn't get to really talk to anyone. It was a really quiet night and the only person I spoke to wanted to speak to someone else... I guess they were breaking us in gently.

So, onto my list for today

    today I have/will

:staradmin do washing at 30 and hang up
:staradmin [STRIKE]work really hard and hopefully be noticed for doing so[/STRIKE]
:staradmin go to orchestra (using less electricity at home)
:staradmin hopefully pay orchestra subscription for the year while it is still at the cheap rate
:staradmin use carshare money to pay for orchestra subscription
:staradmin start once again with the abandoned tidy up
    :staradmin sparkle and shimmer brightly
:staradmin only use the one cheap to run storage heater
:staradmin look online for cheap christmas presents (sneaking a look at my mum's amazon wishlist on my way past)
:staradmin continue reading latest library book (need to be finished by 11th Nov)
:staradmin [STRIKE]call up ILA and shout at them (politely) for not allowing my course learning centre to use my £100 allowance[/STRIKE]
:staradmin [STRIKE]check online banking (and panic about how much I have left)[/STRIKE]
:staradmin [STRIKE]check mobile phone spend[/STRIKE] (oops, nearing my limit)
:staradmin call about the replacement credit card that is lost in the post
:staradmin answer questions about dvd for my £5 after bwing stopped on the street yesterday

Morning everyone, hope you are all well and sparkly

Heavy frost last night meant the heating went on this morning, I had hoped to last to 1 November, but it's far too cold, just to prove a point!!

Does anyone know what happened to our elf?

Olive Oyl - have you decided on a [STRIKE]career in torture[/STRIKE],whether to join the gym, sounds a great idea if you like doing it

Miss Piggy, how annoying for you, will you be able to claim back the charges? Still inconvenient though

Snowmen Fay? you lucky thing to be able to play, I've come back to work today, thought I'd better...

    Today I have/will
    • check online banking, not available at the moment! not quite 24/7 eh?
    • do something to my spreadsheet
    • come to work
    • bought in breakfast and lunch
    • borrow stuff from andans list, I can't think of anything else at the moment :o
Hopefully will pop back later, see you all then!
