cheaper newcastle airport hotel?

As we are a family of 5 we have to book 2 rooms, priced up the premier travel inn and will be £129 for 1 night, we need to be as close to the airport as possible as we just want to drive down and be at the hotel/airport as dont know newcastle very well but do know where the airport is
is that the only option for us? seems a lot for 1 night

There is a metro inn (used to be Formule 1) about one mile from the airport. About £30 a night for room which sleeps 3.

You could try the Travelodge or the Holiday Inn at the Metrocentre - it's about 15 minutes drive to the airport, all on dual carriageway
