We are just entering recession. Unemployment is increasing. The mortgage lenders that are actually still in the lending business are extremely risk averse. Houses are generally well over fair value (in terms of multiples of income). Reposessions are rising. The number of house sales is a fraction of what it was last year, or even a few months ago.

The perfect combination for house prices to start rising again.... NOT

Sometimes it's not just an e-mail. It can be more blatant.

Northern newbuilds to lead recovery says "research" from EA Knight Frank.

Roll up and get 'em while they're still cheap ;).

Had an email today from an estate agent who said property prices are just about to start going up, and that we can trust her on that (her words)

Does anyone here believe this, or is it a ploy to get me through the door?

And in other news, a turkey was interviewed, he was quoted as saying that he was quite sure Christmas will be abolished this year.

Why not ask her to put her money where her mouth is? Set up a deal whereby you'll give her a grand if prices rise. And she'll give you the same if they don't. :)

Where would an EA get a grand from?

The ones I know of are very deep in debt.

:confused::confused:You would think they would lend people the money? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
    To dissolve the people
    And elect another?

well the estate agent i spoke to on sat said i was better off waiting as they are coming down and will continue to for a while......and also said if i really wanted to buy now make sure i put in a very cheeky offer under any asking price. (I said i could go to a max of 120k and he said pick any house thats around 160 - 170 then)

(the only reason I can think he was truthful with me was I'm a soldier and he is an ex soldier)
