Copying from Sky+ to DVD

Is there anyway to copy programmes stored on my Sky+ to DVD so I can delete them off the sky box HD but still have them to keep.
Am keen to do this after Sky "offered" me a free movie trial but when it expired nonoe of the movies stored on the Sky + box (for which we have 4 mixes and multi-room so they do OK out of us) would play.
Been offered the movies over Xmas but won't get to watch them all over the holidays and would like to save them for the New Year.
Thanks

I have used the Scart output from the Sky + and recorded to my Archos media player, using the same output you could easily hook it up to the input of a DVD recorder and record the signal, the only problem is you would have to play all the movies in real time and of course own a DVD recorder, not sure if there is any sort of macrovision copy protect on it but there is not when I record to my Archos.
Alternatively you could dust off your trusty VHS recorder and do it that way.Signature No Longer acceptable -

We record lots of Sky+ box progs and movies onto dvd. You need a dvd recorder obviously, but it is fairly straightforward. You have to 'play' them and can't watch anything else whilst recording, so we put them on to record when we go out.
I'm not sure why your movies wouldn't play - maybe Sky put some sort of encryption on them. I think they do that with Sky Box Office movies - I don't think you can record them. Hope this helps.
The AV forums are very good for all this type of thing.

There was def some encryption on them - and they were the standard movie channels not Box Office. It flashed up a message saying about not subscribing to the service etc - similar to what happens when people cancel their Sky subscription and find they can't use the Sky + features anymore.0

Sky + records the stream NOT the image, when you play it back you have to have a valid card to decode it or you cannot see the recording.
The down side is exactly that the program is recorded on the hard drive in it's broadcast encrypted form. As has been said if you cancel sky you cannot watch anything you have recorded on sky + unless it's on a free to air channel you retained access to (the freesat from sky option). It's even possible if Sky change the cards you will not be able to record something you do have a subscription to, as the card may not be backwards compatable.0 -
That makes sense and fits with what happened before. But how does that impact on copying to DVD - would it need to be burning to disc "live" (as the movie shows)0
