Can't install Ad-Aware or Spybot S&D??

Hi all,

I have recently installed COMODO firewall and AVAST anti-virus following the expiration of my 1yr free Mcafee from Sky.

I then tried to install the above spyware utilities but both come up with an error?

"Error 1304. Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Security\aawservice.exe. Verify you have access to that directory"

I have a folder set up for all security software (comodo and avast are installed into this folder) and at install prompt I changed the path to this folder - could this be causing the problem???

Any advice would be appreciated!

yes, suspect thats the problem , it's probably to stop the Avast software being corrupted by a virus attack

    try another location

Was the McAfee uninstalled using the instructions HERE?
Could there be traces left behind causing the problem?
    Move along, nothing to see.

Yes Spud I used the MCPR.exe tool.

Thanks for checking though. Some may not have used it and could be having all sorts of hell!
