I recently changed my psu for a quiet one but my cpu fan is noisy as well. Can anyone recommend a quiet cpu fan for my amd athlon xp 3200+ please?

Having had a Zalman CPU cooler, I'd probably recommend going straight to a fan-less one.0

I wouldn't be hugely keen on using an XP3200 without a fan, some cpu's can cope but thats a fairly warm one. As a cheap solution Toxteths is a good suggestion, I've dealt with Dorothy Bradbury a few times and the service is second to none. If you're replacing the entire heatsink there's a huge range out there - I've used a lot of different makes and most will now do HSF with adjustable fan controls - the likes of Zalman do a cracking range - used the old 6500 and got a 7000 sitting somewhere that was efficient and quiet, but more expensive. Akasa and Thermaltake also do decent, cheaper ones but most newer ones are more for s939/754.
If you can go to £20ish I'd go for the Zalman 7000 alcu (The all copper one is more expensive but not appreciably better)0 -

I'd thoroughly recommend Arctic Cooling. I've got their silent case and the AMD64 version of this fan. It is completely silent even though I've got five of their fans in the case! They are bigger than usual (they can run slower) and are a different design meaning they don't vibrate as much (quieter again).
There may well be a cheaper price out there for this - but DABS is around £15.0 -
Thanks for all your replies.
I was already looking at the Arctic Cooling Copper Silent 2 on epcbuyer this afternoon, just under £10 delivered. I'm not sure if it's the same one you linked to on Dabs as the one that I was looking at doesn't appear to be illuminated but as I don't have a fancy see-through case it doesn't matter. Would you recommend the Copper Silent 2?cougar wrote:http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?quicklinx=3J7S&refererid=WQ&GCID=C16358x004-CasesCooli&KEYWORD=DabsXtreme+Arctic+Socket+A+2500+%2B++%2F+3200+%2B++%2F+3400+%2B++Blue+Light
