Jacamo credit search without consent!!!

I created a login for Jacamo to buy some clothes with my credit card. reading my credit reference file, I notices a credit account and a search from Jacamo.

I cannot beleive that this is legal. Can a company just search your file - even though you didnt give consent?

Comments

  • You are quite right - I just applied again under a fake name and address.
Nowhere in the text does it say that you are creating a credit agreement - except at the bottom of the page, in a scroll area, there is a data protection statementn saying a search will be done.

I agree - but is there a limit to how companies can masquerade a credit application as a standard website login account?
