Sorry if this is hijacking a thread, but very similar question.
We have penetrating damp that has been caused by a blocked downpipe. (on inspection area behind pipe is in need of re-pointing so it has got through very quickly).
Definitely due to this as no prior problems before a certain third party caused this blockage.
What i need is advice on how to treat the problem and who to turn to. I gather i need to get pointing done, but how to best sort out the wall and the inside?? Wall is now growing black mould and bubbling lining paper and is spreading alarmingly.
Many thanks for any help and/or advice.

once you sort out the source of the damp and get the pointing done, the damp inside should dry out and you can clean it off with diluted bleach.0

Thank you - that is good news - will have to repaper and paint, but much better than having to have some kind of treatment.0
