i had a very similar problem upgrading xp home from 512mb to 3gb with memory bought from play.com. cleaned the banks then installed new memory but it just would not have it. ended up sending 1GB back and making do with 2 x 1gb + 1 x 512mb. it seemed that it couldnt cope with 3gb0 -
Thanks for all your help everyone.
Finally managed to download a version of Asus update that would install in 64 bit Vista and allow me to update the bios from within windows. So it was the old bios after all.
Then put in new ram and bingo! :money:0 -
