  • Yeah I was out in town today and it definately required scarf and gloves, Im not sure what the temp was but it was distinctly wintery. As much as I hate paying the energy companies, I just hate being cold. Been trying to put heating on (radiators are red hot within 4-5 minutes) and then after 15 min turning them off as they take about 35-40 minutes to go cold. Dont know if Im saving myself any money, but it makes me feel like I am!

I have to put my central heating on dry my clothes, I live in a flat and in winter if the heating is not on it takes a long time for things to dry, so the heating is on a couple of hours a week since beginning of october. I use a small fan heater in the morning for 5 minutes, while I get out of the warm clothes I wear to sleep, and into my working clothes. Most of the time I have a couple of jumpers on and a pair of furry boots, but no heating.
Tonight, as it is colder (I still won't put my heating on, I am determined to give less money to those greedy utility companies), I have placed a hot water bottle in my bed. It reminds me when I was in my teens, my parents used to have coal fires downstairs, my bedroom was at attic level and there was no insulation whatsoever, it was a real freezer, especially that in my time we used to have harsh winter with snows and everything, so my mother used to make me a hot water bottle every evening to put in my bed. Very nice, especially when your feet have a tendency to go icy, my feet tonight will be comfortable and warm.:D
