Help!!! Counterfeit GHDs

Hi,
Last month I bought some GHD's from eBargains express which broke this morning...they have started melting from the inside!! I rang GHD today and gave them the hologram codes and they couldn't verify them so this means they are fakes! Ebargains site itself states that they have this hologram so you can tell that they're genuine. I have tried contacting them but no reply as of yet but I was wondering where I stand on getting a full refund or replacement. I paid for them through paypal and by credit card so should I be able to get a refund on the grounds its illegal to sell counterfeit items? any help will be much appreciated x

Raise a dispute via paypal if you get no response. Regardless of whether they are counterfeit, you should be entitled to a refund due to them being faulty.
I have no experience of this retailer, but as you seem to have fairly solid cause for concern over the items being counterfeit, I would also report them to Trading Standards - they should be in your local phone book.

thanks I did get a reply from them today asking me to confirm my address to send out some replacements. I asked if they could confirm that the replacements would be genuine... so fingers crossed on some genuine ones or a refund.0

When you get the new pair, go to the GHD website, and register them online by typing in the hologram code, which will tell you if they're fake or not.

How much did you pay for them? If they were considerably cheaper than the "normal" ghd price, then it would suggest they were fakes, and it would perhaps be a good idea to call trading standards.
GHDs are quite commonly faked...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
