Venetian blind with 180cm drop?

I'm looking for a venetian blind which measures 6ft by 6ft (180 x 180cm), but all the ones I've seen only seem to have a 160cm drop. I got a quote for a made-to-measure one but I can't afford it (over £100). Was just hoping I could go to a DIY store and pick one up but I can't find one long enough. Not bothered about it being wood or aluminium, just a bog standard one in a neutral colour will be fine. Does anyone know where I could get one? Thanks!

Minerva, I just googled venetial blind 180cm drop and near the top of the first page was a link to an e-bay seller who has cream or white pvc vential blinds with a width of 180 and drop of 213. Would that be any good? Price is £11.95. Haven't checked out the seller though and only looked at page 1 of the google results, might be worth having a look.

Thanks for that  I did a Google search yesterday but I didn't look at the Ebay sellers :o The £11.95 one is for a 160cm drop, but I've found a seller I can get a longer one from for £25 plus delivery. They've got a website and a shop as well as selling on Ebay so I think they'll be OK.

Be careful with pvc venetian blinds. In a hot window exposed to summer sun, the slats will deform and look awful.Better to pay a little extra and get aluminium ones. Please also be aware that the cheaper wood venetians will also bow in hot windows due to the wood not being seasoned properley.

I got 250cm long venetian blinds from Ikea last year. The unecessary length can be taken off quite easily.

Various widths and colours are available.

Thanks for that. The window I'll be putting the blind onto doesn't hardly get any sun apart from a little bit in the evenings, so I don't think it would be a problem, but I'll bear it in mind :)

I managed to get some ivory venetians for my living room window last year (at least 18ocm drop) - was a store called 'at home' I think, a small chain, but one of those with furniture, mirrors kitchenware etc. Cost about £12, is in direct sunlight most of the day and hasn't warped in the slightest.
  • Ikea ones are great. They do wooden ones in a beech colour, cream or mahogany. They are really easy to reduce in length and width.

There are these with cashback on quidco http://www.quidco.com/?search=blinds
I did the trimming and cutting to size for the bathroom window, it was a right kerfuffle, for the kitchen I got one from Web-blinds via quidco, made to the sizes I gave them and no palava.

I haven't heard of "At Home", don't think there must be one near me. Did a Google search but didn't come up with anything.

Thanks for that, they don't have any ready made ones long enough so I'd have to get made-to-measure, they seem to be about £60-£70 though and that's half price on special offer.

I looked on Ikea's website but they didn't have any wide enough or long enough, and you couldn't order online. I was thinking of trying a company called DSC Direct, they sell on their own website and on Ebay. I can get one from them for £30, has anybody tried them?
