Sony Handycam Video 8

We bought this video camera in 1998 and last night our daughter dropped it and it has broken (badly). To make an insurance claim we need to tell the insurance company how much it cost. Does anyone have any ideas or could tell us where we could find out?

TIA
Marje

Take it into jessops maybe, or ask the insurance company where to go?

I've got one of them. Do you need a price for what they are now or what they were back then? Back then I paid about £350 for mine but now sadly you can pick one up for about £150 new.

Remember to get a price to replace the model, if no longer available jessops will be able to tell you what model replaces that one.

Also worth checking the excess on the insurance policy and if you would lose any sort of no claims bonus, ie your premium for next year might go up significantly.

Also worth looking at current prices on uk.pricerunner.com and consider if there could be any bargains in the January sales.
