I imagine this "planner" is a Briton making a living out of "planning", over there?

In Italy we do it all ourselves. We contact the priest if it's a church wedding, or the registry office if it is a secular wedding, set dates for the various formalities, arrange for the reception etc. Go-betweens are highly unusual in Italy as everybody prefers to deal with matters direct, not just for weddings but also things like buying property etc.

Having said that, I have no experience of getting married in Italy or anywhere else, so I don't know which solution would be best for you personally.

    Good luck!
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.
