Gas hob for flats?

Ok, I know this should probably be on the I wanna board, but I thought I'd get more help here. 
I need a stainless steel gas hob, suitable for installation in a flat. I was going to buy a lovely £70 one, til I saw the sticker on it :mad: . I'm redoing the kitchen, but it's an exact replacement for what was put in there 8 years ago - same brand even. Just shinier
Cheapest I can find that is flat-suitable so far is £200 more :eek:
