Does anyone know of a unit that will allow me to see my laptop output on a TV screen. I have Toshiba laptop with one USB port and my tv has the SCART socket or the 3 pin red, yellow and white jack sockets.
If a converter exists where could I get it and also what would the picture quality be like

I have one single yellow jack output and a round multipin similar to a hifi output, as well as the usual serial and parallel ports£2008 in 2008 Member No. 689 : £962.29 to goFeb - £200 March - £90.30 April - £76 May - £141.43 June - £82 - July - £101.28 - Sept £304

The yellow connector is TV-Out and the multipin is an S-Video connector, as long as you have the correct cable (4-pin connectors are most common for PC-TV) you can plug these straight into your TV, then change the display settings on your laptop. TV-Out should be ok with just a regular RCA lead.
A standard definition TV will display video pretty well, but stuff like text will be blurred.0 -
I have found a 3 pin lead (red, yellow, white both ends). I plug the yellow from the pc to the yellow of the tv, but can find no pictue in the av section of the tv.

not tried it with a laptop but you may ned to go into your display settings and activate the 2nd screen if you right click your desktop and click properties - settings you should see the monitor overview come up.
the number 1 is your main default dislay and there should also be a number 2 which is greyed out - right click on this and seclect attach. Once you do this the number 2 should brighten up
if it detects that the TV is plugged in - it will stay bright and your TV should show some sort of picture (usually your desktop background picture) - otherwise it will unattach itself in a few secondsDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -
