Run for ferrets

Does anybody know of where I could buy a reasonably priced outdoor run about 6ft by 4ft for our ferrets, or knows someone who could make one for us. We are in Essex.

Thank you

  • We got our 2-tier ferret houses from the RSPCA. I think they are £110 each though.

The houses that are made for poultry strangly enough would be ideal for them, as long as you make the flooring ferret-proof cus the little so-and-so's do like to dig tunnels!

I'm hoping to be able to afford one of these to connect onto their hutches in the future.

I'm not too sure about cheap runs. I guess if someone in the neighbourhood was handy with wood you might get a reduction in cost in getting one built if you show them some pics of what you want.

The American type of ferret housing looks dreadful (basically wire cages on several levels) so best avoided.

How many ferrets do you have?

We have 6 - Freddy, Satan, Suzy Wong, Stroppy Bridget, Bosun and Tiggington Flowerpot.

We feed them on good quality ferret kibble biscuits with raw chicken livers from the supermarket as they are not kept as hunting animals.

    :)

Agree with previous poster-try local ferret rescue they may have some contacts.Because of the difficulties of getting good quality accomodation for ferrets some people make their own

They are expert escape artists-have super flexible little bodies, strong claws and fear nothing and no one !!
Glorious happy little singing things are pet ferrets !!
  • sorry no advice - but when I saw the title my first thought was that you were discussing some sort of sponsored run, presumably to raise money for ferrets!!

For our we just have a rabbit hutch that has a run attached, then lock them in the hutch at night.....

We stood in on slabs tho, so much easier to clean too
You know your getting old when you
