Thanx for the post. It will appeal to lots of people for differing reasons. Not evryone wants an all singing all dancing phone. Just a cheap way to keep in touch.. Dont worry about the negative comments, you cant please everyone all the time and its pointless to try.
  • OP- Don't take the comments to heart. I can see why you are feeling the way you do, but when you post on a public forum you have to expect others to air their opinions and views on what you have posted. The way I see it, if your post helps at least one person then it was worth it, regardless.

I personally think its a good deal if it is £29.99. I don't think anyone here genuinely set out to offend you. ;)

Jeez - why do I bother?

I don't know that much about how long credit usually lasts - it's all a bit confusing with 3. As I said, I don't have the phone with me to check, but on 3's site HERE they say the £30 top-up for the V975 has a 60 day validity period.
Look HERE and it says with their new £15 top up voucher there is no expiry date. So it depends on what top-up you're getting.

Mods - feel free to take this post off, it's obviously a rubbish deal with a rubbish handset and apparantly I'm lying about the price as well.

edit - sorry mummysaver, we cross posted! Glad I've got at least one positive reponse :j

sorry didnt mean to offend, just thought i'de point out some facts which people may want to know before buying - such as the length of time the credit is valid for

Gawd - everyone thinks I'm a right stroppy cow now :o

I really hope the post is useful to someone. Even though I've been a member on here for two and a half years  it's not that often I get a 'find' to post before someone else does so always feel like I wasn't giving as much as I was getting even though I have posted over 2000 times (I know the post count with my profile says less - everyone lost a load when the site changed a year or so ago)

I know everyone has their opinions, and I understand people may want to know what the phone is like etc, but to be fair they hadn't asked yet and two immediate negative responses might have put a lot of people off. Hubby is happy with his and daughter will be over the moon with hers.

It just felt like it was a case of 'that's rubbish because.....'. As I'm in the middle of doing an essay, trying to decorate (as in paint and wallpaper) three rooms at once, get sorted for Christmas and had a bed arrive today for my daughter that I wasn't expecting so hadn't cleared the room out - then found I had to rearrange the room because it is longer than a standard one (electric hospital type), sort out my other daughters costumes for her dance show rehearsals tonight, do boring housework stuff, shop.......you get the picture, I was busy and in a bit of a rush  so having to keep checking facts etc was not doing me any favours and I just got a bit pi**ed off.

I'm more chilled now - and if anyone manages to get the same deal as I did then I'm happy for them, but if you don't fancy the look of it - don't get it...simple.

Thanks for all the supportive comments from everyone though :T:xmassign:

The problem I had was they weren't correct facts. But never mind, in response to your post I found out proper information so it still turned out alright in the end ;)

Bought the v975 tonight in Savers George St Aberdeen. At the checkout the assistant said it was £79.99 but then handed me a £20 off voucher which she took back off me. So £59.99 to pay but £30 credit on the phone. I was a bit worried when she insisted on setting it up in the shop saying other customers had had problems with the battery. It does say refurbished on the box. It's a fantastic phone for the money and my kids are impressed so it must be ok.

  • If you don't have one of the Savers stores nearby you can get this from the Orange shop online for 34.99 (no airtime though)
