'Savers' (kind of like Superdrug but cheaper, check HERE for your nearest store) are selling refurbished '3' Motorola C975 (selling in Argos for £79.95 HERE) and '3' Motorola V975 PAYG phones (selling in Argos for £249.95 HERE) including £30 credit for £59.99 when you spend over £5.
My husband got the C975 last year, and although I think it's too large a handset - he likes it. He downloads movies etc on it. We've just bought the V975 for my daughter and although it's not tiny, it is a more reasonable size.
It also has some deal from 3 that says if you port your existing number you get £10 cash as well.
Edit - more detailed specs of C975 HERE and V975 HERE

I do believe that they are refurbished handsets.
Plus the savers in Durham explicitly said, that you get the handset for £29.99 when you buy £30 credit, i.e. making the phone £59.99 (although i may have been mistaken)

PS. These motorolas don't have great software, i.e. it is sluggish etc, and battery life is appalling! (esp compared to my lg u8360)Student Moneysaving Expert :beer:0 -
Hubby never has a problem with his been sluggish but you're right about the battery needing to be charged often - but hubby uses his so much with texting, talking, taking photos, watching movies (not sure why you would want to on that size screen
) so in his case it's hardly surprising! I'm a little angel

I just rang my local Savers and the very helpful girl on the phone said they had the V975 for 79.99 but if I spend £5 instore it is £59.99 which comes with £30 credit. Hope this helps to clarify.
I have to agree with muddyfox470 as well. These motorola phones are pretty awful software wise and built in memory is tiny. Their saving grace is that the camera is pretty good.0 -
Sorry if people don't think they're any good, I suppose it depends on how much you use it and what you use it for - we bought one for my 11 year so it will be fine - especially at that price.I'm a little angel

as far as i know the £30 is onyl good for a month, in addition there seems very little poing in buying a payg phone on three pay as you might as ell just get a monthly contract since each top up voucher only lasts a month.
i saw on the three websitte deals which were almost as good - i think £49.99 with £30 credit but it was a refurb.

Thanks for your post Trix, got one for my daughter last Christmas, she was thrilled, and now that 3 let you keep your credit beyond 30 days it's a real bargain. DD has lost her phone recently so will check these out, £29.99 seems like a snip, if it was a mistake I hope they make one when they serve me!
Keep posting, there are lots of people who read the threads but who forget to say thanks who do appreciate them.GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Jeez - why do I bother?
I don't know that much about how long credit usually lasts - it's all a bit confusing with 3. As I said, I don't have the phone with me to check, but on 3's site HERE they say the £30 top-up for the V975 has a 60 day validity period.
Look HERE and it says with their new £15 top up voucher there is no expiry date. So it depends on what top-up you're getting.:xmassign:edit - sorry mummysaver, we cross posted! Glad I've got at least one positive reponse :jI'm a little angel

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to post. It can be soul-destroying when you post something only to have negative or questioning responses.
If I had found a deal as good as yours seems to be, I would have posted it on here as well. Perhaps the offer varies from store to store.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for posting and :xmassign:0 -
I am sorry if I came across as disbelieving. I rang my local store to see if they had any in stock before I went to buy one, the sales girl told me the price.0
