I bought a wireless usb adaptor for my ds and psp but think i may have bought a wrongun! It is a Belkin F5D7050uk Version 3000. I cant seem to get it working as an access point. It seems to need a router. From hunting around it might be based on the RT2500 but their are conflicting reports. Any ideas?
I have heard you can modify drivers to with softap support to work but wouldn't know where to start.
I have blueyonder broadband hard wired and just want something to add to it to give me wireless as cheaply as possible and preferably portable for connection to my work pc.
Any help greatfully recieved or its going back. I just wanted one that would do for my psp as well as the nintendo one is locked to there equipment.

I might be able to help.
What you have got is a wireless adapter. Usually these are used to connect a device to a wirless signal (where the device has no inbuilt adapter).
I can tell you now that you DS's PSP has an in built wireless adapter. What you will need to get him onto the internet is something to transmit a wireless signal - ie a wireless router. However i should point out that you can't play games on the psp over the internet - but you can surf the internet on the PSP. The wireless adapter in built in the PSP runs in 'ad-hoc' mode. This basically means it will connect the psp to another device of similar type and let them communicate (ie another psp).
The Nintedno DS also has a built in wireless connection and with a wireless router you could play someonline games.
If you do buy a router and your work laptop does not have a built in wireless adapter you can use the usb one you have bought to connect the laptop to the wirelses signal.
Personally i have a netgear DG834G router which i find to be excellent ( but shop around and read some reviews before you buy).
Hope this is of some help? Any questions?
N.B.
I think there may be ways to make the psp play games online using homebrew software (software not created by companies but by people who share it on the web) but it's not simple and i wouldn't go there if i were you!Fortune's always hiding, I've looked everywhere......0
