How to change title of an MSE thread?

I have an old MSE thread and wish to change the info in the title to make it a bit clearer what the thread is about. I have looked at the FAQ's, but can't see how to do it. Is it possible? How do I do it?

I have tried to edit the thread title through 'advanced' on the edit facility. It changes on the actual post, but it doesn't change what actually appears as the title on the board.

Edit first post, click on advanced, change the title text. Only thing I can think of is that you're not editing the very first post. Otherwise the procedure I described is the one that works (even just tried it on one of my old threads).
