sorry to jump in on your thread but was just wondering, as your talking brown paper, do you think it would look ok if I was to get my wee girl to paint stamp (using potatoes or something similar) onto the brown paper obviously before wrapping?0

I think that would be fab! And keeps the wee one happy! You may walk and you may run
You leave your footprints all around the sun
And every time the storm and the soul wars come
You just keep on walking0 -
I used brown paper last year and just tied the parcels up with ordinary thin red satin ribbon. Simple and traditional looking. (Hang around while people are opening the pressies, then you can gather up the ribbon and use it again next year, or for other projects!)0

Could anyone tell me where I can buy the raffia ribbon/string please? I wanted some a while ago and I had no idea where to start looking?0

I've bought some lovely subtle gold raffia from John Lewis before- probably not the cheapest but I had vouchers!
I would imagine that Hobbycraft would do it, although I've not been there for a while. Might take a trip out that way tomorrow on my day off and will report back......:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Thanks for that. I will have to have a look next time I pass.0

Hi all
I love the brown paper idea...will be doing the same myself this year..had spotted some pretty organza ribbon on e bay (but need to learn how to do decent bows !! )
Where do you all get your brown paper from ? Our Post Office only ever seem to stock very small rolls...that work out quite expensive.
Would realy appreciate a point in the right direction..
Many Thanks0 -
ebay for big rolls or staples you could try partners...or viking direct0
