OK so the answer is buy a new PC but I'm skint so I'm looking for help.
My daughter has a Dell Desktop that I want to add some memory to and also put a wireless card in it. Until recently I was using a Linksys router/receiver for her to access the internet. I've now signed up with sky so I want the desktop to receive the sky signal.
Will I be able to use the Linksys or do I need to buy a card? I've tried my mates belkin USB wireless adaptor but that picked up nowt. Mind you I haven't got a clue what I'm doing so it'smost likely me.

Is there any particular reason why you wish to go wireless?
The Sky router has four wired network ports (Ethernet) in addition to the wireless one.
They also supply an ethernet cable all be it only about a metre long.
You won't be able to use your existing modem/router but if you already have a wireless adapter that should work fine. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

So in a nutshell.
If I move my desktop downstairs and connect it to the back of the wireless sky I will be able to connect to the internet?
If that's the case then that will be ok. I'll park the desktop downstairs and my daughter can use my laptop.0 -
Assuming you desktop PC has a LAN/Ethernet connector the answer is yes.
Sky will be sending you either a Netgear or Sagem Wireless Modem/Router.
You can read some stuff on them here:-

Connected the desktop to the sky with ethernet and what about this.
I connected and played poker all night but can't get an internet page so I think there must be something wrong with my ie settings.0
