Las Vegas And Kids

Is there anything to do for them there ?
Are the allowed in to casinos and bars ?
And if you were trvaelling for a couple of weeks between LA/Vegas and the south-west what else is there to do in the way of theme/amusement parks etc.
Much appreciated.

  • I think it would be a bit of a rubbish place for kids. Although you can walk up the strip and look at the casinos, and maybe have a look at circus circus. There's also a water park and the theme park at the Stratosphere. But it's extremely hot and everything does basically revolve around gambling and drinking.

No, they are not allowed in casinos and bars.

It is definitely not a place for children, it is a very hot place most of the year and very tiring, with big distances between the casinos and long queues to get the bus, Circus Circus does have things for children to do but you wouldn't want to spend all your time in there.

LA does have Disney, San Diego has Sea world, Williams to the Grand Canyon has a steam train which is fun.

Sorry, the water park closed a few years ago. I wouldn't reccomend it for young children, my nephews went last year (13 & 17) and they enjoyed it.

I hated the sight of young kids in pushchairs being pushed down the strip at 10.00 pm.

    What a load of rubbish.

You know, it really bugs me when people leave advice when they obviously dont have the slightest clue or pretend to know when they are just assuming.

    1. Yes they are allowed in Casinos, but - they are not allowed to loiter, i.e you cant play blackjack whilst your kid waits, but in terms of moving through the casino they can.

    2. Loads to do
    - Plenty of family shows
    - Willow Beach and other marinas nearby to hire a boat
    - Scenic (hoover dam/grand canyon etc)
    - Cinemas
    - A huge indoor technology computer thing
    - Lay by the pool etc etc etc

    3. Other places along the route:
    - Disney
    - Universal
    - Beaches
    - Aquariams and Zoos
    - Six flags

I havent got a great deal of time but i hope that has in some way answered your original question. - Oh i have taken my children three times and their ages have varied from being 2 to 7

I find it quite chavvy to take your kids to Vegas. Unless its a day or two they must get bored silly. Considering there are pimps on every sidewalk and !!!!!! mags for sale on the footpaths, smoke in every casino etc it really is bad to take your kids.

Like stew68 said, its not a place for kids IMO. Take them to LA instead. however its all to do with how you bring your kids up. Mine wouldn't set foot near Vegas until they were 15 or 16 at least.

Its also funny how the majority of things you mention are not even in Vegas. And don't even dare tell me I don't have the slightest clue.
  • Agree too, there might be some bits for them to do and a trip to the Grand Canyon would defo be one of them but with regards to the strip itself and the atmostphere - not recommended!

    Chavvy?
Clearly you are the chav since my children and I experience a far different side to Vegas. So no, you clearly don’t have a clue. My kids were never bored and they absolutely loved lying by the pool and seeing the sights, perhaps you are just unable to entertain your children?

Las Vegas is like anywhere, LA is full of crime and drugs and is very very apparent - or perhaps you don’t take them on the Subway? Or maybe to London? Or in fact perhaps your children are living quite happily inside a huge cotton wool ball where no one smokes, no one drinks, drugs don’t exist and life is just how you dream it to be - then when you have watched and censored Cinderella or Snow white you let them sit and watch it - since Lion King is probably too Gruesome, and let’s not even mention Bambi!

In respect to what I mentioned about things to do you are not only a chav but unable to read - If youwere you would have seen that is what the OP asked, things to do in Vegas but also en route to LA (or the opposite way)

All opinion mate. And like i said its how you want to raise your kids. If your happy with it then thats fine, but as the pimps are handing your kids prostitute tickets whilst the hot babes van goes past and they start investigating the pretty !!!!!! magazine stands on the street mine will be somewhere more suited.

I'm also not the only one to suggest you start to accept differing opinions to your own and not get into a !!!!y fit when someone offers an alternate view.
