Mac Powerbook - extra USB ports?

I have a Mac PowerBook G4 which only has 2 USB ports, one i use for my mouse and the other has my Lacie hard drive in it. Neither of the USB ports are powerful enough to run external things i have ie an electrical drawing pad, external hard drive etc

I think the USB ports on the newer Mac laptops have enough power to run things through the USB.

Is there an adapter i can buy that will give me more USB ports and maybe more power to run external hard drives?

Plenty, Try searching for a USB Hub. I got a Belkin 4-port USB hub for my iMac. It has a separate power supply to use if you need to run higher-power items from it.

Got it from Amazon for about £10 - do a search for "powered usb hub' and loads will come up.
