Hi Techies
Got a problem with vista not loading(not my laptop)gets to the load bar and then nothing just a blank screen
did get it to load once and remove 298 malware items but on reboot it failed .It gives me options when i swtch it on and tells me that there was a hardware failure, safe mode , last known good config, start windows norm but none of these options are getting past the load bar. I have d/l recovery iso to try and repair the system is this the best way to fix this problem?
ps the laptop is running with 1gb of ram ,i thought you need at least 2gb to run vista
would this cause the system failure

298 malware items? Chuffin eck. Re-install. A clean install, not a repair one as a repair one will end up equally as infected.. As long as you don't format the drive, it'll move your existing documents to a new folder. You could download a Ubuntu Live CD and use that to copy data you want to keep to a USB stick or CDR.
Vista is fine with 1GB. It's all the things that the malware changed which now don't work at all now it's been removed which is the issue.0 -

I don't know your laptop per say, but there is a chance that there is a partition on the laptop that enables the system to be reinstalled. There may be a program (check your start bar) that enables you to burn this to cd so that you can do your install.
Hope that helpsOnly two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

How do i get to the start bar if vista dosent boot up
or would it be better to repair and the create the re-install cd 0 -
You can use any Vista installation DVD you can get hold of as all versions are on the same disc and what gets installed is determined by the CD Key you enter when prompted.0
