TD Waterhouse For Buying FTSE100 Exposure?

I quite like the idea of buying a low fee ishare ETF.
I have seen this offered by TDWaterhouse and the fees seem quite compteitive - £12.50 a trade pretty much plus a tiny bid offer spread.
Has anyone hot suggesttions for alternative brokers that are:
1) Safe
2) Low fees
I ve read a couple of reviews on TD Waterhouse which seem quite positive
Is there anything I should be careful of?
Thanks

If you've done your research etc. etc. and are sure that you want to invest in iShares IFTSE100 ETF, you should consider the TDWaterhouse Regular Investment option. Basically DD an amount into the account each month that then goes to buy the ETF at the market rate with £1.50 dealing charge (yep, you read it right - by buying in bulk on two days of the month they can offer a small overhead).
If you buy into the argument that intead of trying to lob large investments in at the right time ("timing the market"), it's better to take advantage of pound-cost-averaging by investing small amounts regularly, then this is a good account. A similar scheme operates through the Motley Fool website, can't remember who runs it ...0 -
Motley Fool's site runs fine - so long as there's no heavy trading, in which case online trades have a nasty habit of being unable to execute.
Was tempted to go with TD Waterhouse, but ended up with Selftrade.co.uk, simply because the sign up process was simpler, though the fees are comparable.0
